Kevin J. Schehr

President, Chief Executive Officer & Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)

Trust built through engineering discipline

Kevin Schehr co-founded ISO-RAD in 2016 with a conviction that, in radioactive materials, trust is built through engineering discipline — design controls, tested performance, and a quality program that stands up to scrutiny. As President, CEO, and Radiation Safety Officer, he leads the technical backbone behind ISO-RAD’s integrated solutions, ensuring customers receive packaging and source support that is safe, compliant, and practical to deploy.

Professional Journey

Kevin brings more than 35 years of management experience spanning technical sales, operations, manufacturing, and design execution, including prior leadership roles at Source Production & Equipment Co. and SPECMED LLC, where he directed manufacturing of radioactive isotopes and Type B packages under a USNRC Quality Assurance Program and helped launch the SPECMED brachytherapy source line. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Technical & Consulting Expertise

His expertise spans the full lifecycle of radioactive material programs: sealed source approvals, radiation safety program leadership, quality assurance program implementation, and the design, testing, and certification of transport packages. Kevin led development of ISO-RAD’s package portfolio, including the ISORAD-TC1 and ISORAD-TC3 Type B packages and the ISORAD-SL1, SL1+, and SC1 Type A packages.

Kevin has secured six Sealed Source & Device Registry Certificates — including industrial radiography sources (ISO100, ISO150, and ISO880), a proprietary Sr-90 source for macular degeneration treatment, and supplier approvals for Ritverc JSC’s Mössbauer, gamma gauge, and reference/calibration sources. He holds five issued patents related to gamma radiation source technology and a radioactive-staple delivery applicator for brachytherapy treatment. He built ISO-RAD’s Quality Assurance Program to meet USNRC, IAEA, and ISO 9001 requirements, and has implemented similar programs for consulting clients such as NDT Texas LLC.

Notable Projects & Impact

A U.S. Navy veteran (1985–1992) and former Commanding Officer in the Mississippi State Guard, Kevin’s leadership reflects integrity, preparedness, and a commitment to continuous improvement. He created ISO-RAD’s RSO/Source Retrieval training course and serves on the ISO-RAD Radiation Safety Council.

Personal Values & Leadership Style

Kevin leads with engineering discipline and accountability — believing that design controls, tested performance, and a quality program that stands up to scrutiny are how trust is earned in radioactive materials.

Closing Statement

Kevin is committed to ISO-RAD’s mission of delivering integrated solutions — containers, sources, and consulting — built on safety, compliance, and practical execution that customers can trust.
