X-Ray Sources

Low-energy photon sources based on radionuclides that decay by electron capture or internal conversion, producing characteristic K-shell X-rays of the daughter element. Ritverc X-Ray sources are supplied as either hermetically sealed disk capsules with brazed beryllium windows or welded ring capsules, in a wide range of activities and geometries.

Typical applications:

  • elementary X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) of metals, alloys and geological samples;
  • calibration and efficiency checks of Si(Li), HPGe and proportional-counter detectors;
  • thickness and density gauging;
  • laboratory teaching and reference standards.
